Outcomes of Rapid Deployment Aortic Valve Replacement: Early Experience in Wellington Hospital

چکیده
Rapid deployment (RD) aortic valve replacement (AVR) using the Edwards Intuity Elite Valve System is a significant breakthrough in advancement comparison with other current conventional sutured surgical AVR. This study aimed to analyse early experiences this novel bioprosthesis. 60-month prospective study, between July 2017 and 2022, found that 59 patients had RD bioprosthesis implanted at institution. Median follow-up period was 12 months. Baseline preoperative characteristics, isolated or concomitant procedures, prosthesis-related events, survival rates, haemodynamics were evaluated. Primary endpoints pacemaker implantation (PPM) neurological paravalvular leaks, 30-day mortality rates. Secondary reintervention, degeneration, arrhythmia, hospital stay, readmission Approximately 64% males, mean age of 75±3 years. Isolated AVR performed 54% rest procedures. Cardiopulmonary bypass cross-clamping times acceptable. In group, PPM rates 5%, 1.7% experiencing minor stroke event. One patient leak, which moderate haemodynamics. Mean gradient discharge 11±3 mmHg. There no inpatient post-discharge zero. Re-operation degeneration promising excellent results small cohort patients, validating for more usage rapid suitable patients.

Rapid-Deployment Aortic Valve Replacement after Previous Mechanical Valve Implantation
Recent studies report a reproducible reduction of myocardial ischemic and cardiopulmonary bypass times along with excellent hemodynamics and low rates of paravalvular leakage for rapid-deployment valves. A 68-year-old female patient with aortic stenosis and a mechanical mitral valve which was implanted in 2006 received rapid-deployment aortic valve replacement. The procedure could be performed ...
متن کاملCurrent Clinical Evidence on Rapid Deployment Aortic Valve Replacement
Aortic stenosis is the most common valvular heart disease in the Western world. It is caused primarily by age-related degeneration and progressive calcification typically detected in patients 65 years and older. In patients presenting with symptoms of heart failure, the average survival rate is only 2 years without appropriate treatment. Approximately one half of all patients die within the fir...
متن کاملEarly outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve replacement in patients with severe aortic stenosis: single center experience
INTRODUCTION Transcatheter aortic valve implantation is a promising alternative to high risk surgical aortic valve replacement. The procedure is mainly indicated in patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis who cannot undergo surgery or who are at very high surgical risk. AIM Description early results of our single-center experience with balloon expandable aortic valve implantation. ...
متن کاملAortic valve replacement with sutureless and rapid deployment aortic valve prostheses
Aortic valve stenosis is the most common valve disease in the western world. Over the past few years the number of aortic valve replacement (AVR) interventions has increased with outcomes that have been improved despite increasing age of patients and increasing burden of comorbidities. However, despite such excellent results and its well-established position, conventional AVR has undergone grea...
متن کاملClinical outcomes of pulmonary valve replacement surgery in pediatrics: a single-center experience long-term study
Introduction: Heart valve disease in pediatricsis an increasing global concern, especially in developing countries. This study aims to determine the clinical outcomes of pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) surgery in pediatrics. Methods: The authors retrospectively identified all pediatrics undergoing PVR surgery at Imam Reza hospital (Mashhad, Iran) between 2000 and 2020. Their medical records...
